Unimpressive progress

I'm plugging along on St. Brigid's front.  Notice the nicely (correctly) mirrored side cables.  I'm about half a repeat from beginning the armhole shaping.  Finishing SB is going to be my Knitting Olympics project.

I've also been working on Cabaret Raglan from the Summer 2004 Interweave Knits.  I'm just getting to the lace pattern on the bodice, so the pictures are pretty stockinettey.  But hey, it's not purple!

We had a nice 4th of July weekend.  We worked on cleaning out the junk/sewing room and the shed (which was exhausting BTW), in part to make room for this:

model99

It's a Singer Model 99 from 1928.  It's electric but I'm planning a motorectomy and a hand crank conversion operation.  And a refinish for the bent wood case.

I have a couple of sewing projects nearly ready to show off.  I'll wait until next time though since I just accidently posted this.  Aaargh!

I know! I know! Can I guess/answer ;-)

As always, St. Brigid is looking quite lovely. I know that Norah Gaughan has a big following, but I just can get into most of her designs. That one is quite nice.

You're putting me to shame with your St. Brigid. I haven't worked on mine for weeks because I keep telling myself -- and stupidly I believe me -- that if I just work on Henley Perfected one more day it will be over. This time, though, really. If I work on it one more day I'll be done.

The progress may be "slow" . . . but it certainly isn't unimpressive. The "new" sewing machine is so cool. I can't wait to see your sewing projects. You will post them soon, right? :)

That Aran is fabulous!

Ooo, wow! I love the Cabaret Raglan! It's a good thing I *probably* don't have that issue of IK, otherwise...

Mmmm...St. Brig is looking good.

Sonya- It's not purple, but a gorgeous gold- it'll be amazing.

Nice score on the sewing machine- I have a 1910 treadle (which my daughter who doesn't sew wants)

St Brigid looks fabulous! Nice "new" sewing machine! If I did a motorectomy it would be destroyed for all time. It's a gift.

The stockinette looks nice and golden and, best of all, looks like it's going at a good clip.

Accidentally posted? lol.

Unimpressive??? You show us that amazing cable pattern, and then a vintage sewing machine that you are going to re-do? I am *totally* impressed.

I picked up one of those sewing machines a while back. How did you learn how to do a motorectomy? Mine weighs a ton, but works well.
