Comfy and Pilly, Together
I have nothing but love for Sitcom Chic. It's an easy knit that creates a cute sweater. I'm feeling considerably less love for Knit Picks Comfy (75% cotton/25% acrylic). It was pilling by noon. Aaaaarrrrgh. It's really soft though so it will make a good around the house sweater once it's too pilly to be worn to work. I think I'll knit myself another in some other yarn and make one for my mom for Christmas.
Pattern: Sitcom Chic from Knitty
Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy
Needles: #8s
And there are socks. If I spent a little more time on these pictures I might get the sock on my left foot on straight. They are not as wonky as they appear.
Pattern: Garter Rib socks from Sensational Knitted Socks
Yarn: Socks that Rock, Farmhouse colorway
Needles: #1s
Comments: They fit well, but the pooling... enough said.
On the up side of knitting, I finished the first Celtic Braid sock. It's the most perfect fitting sock EVER. And no pooling.
Like many knit bloggers, I compose fantastic posts at night as I'm falling asleep. Most of them are maniacal, yet well-reasoned, political rants. Luckily for all involved, most never see the light of day or the blog. But after watching the news tonight, I just have to ask: Why does it take WaPo reporters or a dad with video recorder and YouTube to get the fricking military to provide decent living quarters for soldiers? Honestly! Where does all that defense budget money go that they can't get 60-year-old plumbing fixed, slap up some paint, and call in an exterminator?
When did the U.S. become the Keystone cops of empires? Well, I have a pretty good idea of when that happened but I'll stop so as to prevent my head from exploding. [As an aside, while I recognize that the U.S. is an empire, I'd prefer that it weren't.]

The cardi is really cute. Pilling is annoying but that will give ou the excuse to have it as an "at home" sweater.
And I LIKE the pooling. I'm so anti-anti-pooling. heheheh
And while I'm disagreeing with you, my last few lucid thoughts before sleep are normally about Star Trek since I tend to fall asleep to that. However, my time at the gym produces some of the most erudite and forward-looking blog posts ever. All of which are forgotten as I move from thinking about my future as the first female leader of the US to how much I hate that bleeping death machine at the gym.

Pretty! Sorry about the pilling. Hope it gets a lot of use outside the house before being forced to stay indoors ;-)

The cardigan is beautiful and looks great on you as well! I have a lot of unpublished blog posts that were written as I was nodding off as well.

I thought the sweater was lovely and such a great color on you. When I heard the news about Ft. Bragg I, also, was upset. You Tube has opened many eyes to what is really going on, sad it came to this but sometimes you need to do what you need to do. A lot of the problems are that things are outsourced too much. More money spent on outsourcing contracts than if they had kept things in house. Oh well... Keep those blogs coming, whether they be composed before sleep or while watching the news, just keep them coming.

Love love love the Sitcom Chic. Sorry the yarn is so pilly though. :( How disappointing.
Off to add that pattern to my RavQueue now - if it's not already there. :)

Ya, that's what I was afraid of with the Comfy. I tried a small swatch with it and it seemed to shed quite a bit while I was just swatching. I was hoping that it was just the "excess" fuzz and would, um, work it's way out. I love the Sitcom Chic pattern too and my first one is an around the house sweater (way too big for public display). Yours looks fab and is a great fit. Hopefully you'll get lots of wear from it, either in or out of the house!

Piling suuuuuckkkkssss.... :( Well, you've made a lovely sweater, one I may have to give a second look (thanks for that, by the way). It looks like it could be made for any season.

Pretty Sitcom Chic! Hiss on the pilling though. I love your garter rib socks. The pooling isn't that bad, it's almost .....ah, barber pole cylindrical around your two feet.
Did you finish your other Must Have before you started the new one?

Sitcom Chic looks great on you! Very flattering! That stinks about the pilling though.
What our soldiers endure while serving our country is shameful. We need to do much better for them. I hope things improve fast now that this has come to light.

Love it! Bummer on the Comfy though!! Gah..sock pooling, why won't it not do that, if I could find the cure I'd love it.
I feel for the soldiers, I take care of them there and they so don't deserve that treatment.

I like your version of Sitcom Chic better than the one on Knitty. Think I will have to add that to my to-knit list. I too compose blog entries, frequently all day long, then when I sit down to write, can't remember any of those pearls. Re YouTube, etc. we are all journalists now. Someone has to keep an eye on things.

The sweater does look wonderful, tho'. And the socks- great minds must think alike, I have "Sensational Socks" and the yarn to knit those Garter Rib socks packed up to be knit while I'm gone.
I am truly amazed at how much you get finished.

Gorgeous Sitcom Chic! Too bad about the pilling, although a pretty house sweater isn't a bad trade-off.
I'm amazed by the way the STR Farmhouse pooled. That is crazy cool!
