Right on schedule for one post a year

9 Mar

So far 2013 is the year of the sock.  Four pairs already!  I’m in the CookieA sock club this year and so far I love it.  I really like most of her designs and it’s a great way to try new yarns.   The first club yarn is from Indigodragonfly, merino, cashmere, and nylon blend.  (Where has that stuff been all my life?)

While I waited for the first club shipment, I did a pair of BFFs in Cascade Heritage Silk.  I can see knitting this pattern over and over.

And a Vanilla pair for those knitting days when a pattern is just too much to handle.

Let’s see what else have I knit in the last year?  I finished the knitting for Two Hearts from A Fine Fleece last October, but just attached the sleeves last month.

I’ve done a few shawls, but I’ll save those for another post.  (Two posts in 2013?!)

In non-knitting news, DH is nearly done with chemo and doing well.  2012 was the most difficult year of our lives.  Seriously, cancer really sucks.  2013 hasn’t been a treat so far either (deaths of a family member, a close friend, and one of our dogs), but hopefully things will level out.  The challenges illustrated how comforting  and important to me knitting is.  EZ had it right.  Knit on through all crises.
